Student Film

E-mail Print PDF

Today I had an audition and interview for a Student Film. We had to drive about an Hour to Torrance. We went to the ISMP which stands for International Scool of Motion Pictures.

In the car I did my warm up and was ready to go. When I walked in I was greeted by a very nice guy named Sohei. I think he is from Japan. He wrote and is directing the film I am trying out for. Sohei gave me the script and I had 5 minutes to do a cold read. That is where you don't have any time to prepare. You just go in and give it all you've got. When I got in the room there was a camera set up. He had me read a few lines. Then he asked me to do it one more time but to be a bit more angry.  I enjoyed this audition. I would really like to do this student film. It does not pay anything but it is the experience that I want to get. If I get the part it does not start filming until June.

One thing I have leared in the month that I have been down here so far is that you have to be patient. Also I have learned that everything is a learning experience and prepares you for the next step. I am enjoying this so much.

Tomorrow board a plane and head back to Oregon so that I can see Jayde perform in the Nutcracker Ballet this weekend. I can't wait to give Jayde and my dog Diesel a big hug when I get to Oregon.
